Some days are for painting commissions, which I truly enjoy, and others are just for me. When it’s time to create something for me, I tend to lean toward florals and landscapes just to clear my head.
I’ve wanted to paint a field of poppies for several years and this is the result. I’m so happy with it. The diffused, blurry foreground leads to some tiny details in the back. It’s exactly how loose I always hope to paint. And the colors are some of my favorite corals and warm reds with pops of scattered yellow and white. Just like my wedding bouquet. I painted a frame to match and I’m in love. Hope you are, too!
